A minor earthquake shook Western New York on Monday morning

On a scale from 1 to 10, the West Seneca earthquake produced an intensity of 4 in the Buffalo area, Hatem said, and a 2 in the Rochester area.

 The quake, which  as 3.8 magnitude according to the U.S. Geological Survey, occurred at 6:15 a.m. near West Seneca,

 It “shook the whole house so much I thought a car hit it,” he said on Twitter.

 .According to the U.S.G.S., “moderately frequent” quakes occur in southern Ontario and western New York, with reports dating back to 1840.

 Earthquake Canada, which measured a 4.2 magnitude event, reported it was felt slightly in southern Ontario.
